The full name of this @UNESCO World Heritage Site is a bit of a mouthful: “Cultural Landscape of Bali Province: the Subak System as a Manifestation of the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy.” In a nutshell it covers 5 rice terraces of Bali, Indonesia and the water temples built among them. The temples and water management system and series of canals is a cooperative philosophical approach to cultivating the land that brings together the realms of the spirit, the human world and nature. It has been around since the 9th century.
