THANK YOU! Over 700,000 tourists have ‘visited’ the Faroe Islands virtually
Since we on 15 April 2020 launched our virtual Remote Tourism initiative, over 700,000 people from 197 countries have visited the Faroe Islands through our new, compelling Remote Tourism tool.
This is over six times the number of in-person visitors for the whole of 2019!
Remote Tourism launched following the travel restrictions imposed by the Faroese government due to COVID-19 in mid-March.
We ran 22 tours in total. Today marks the last of our virtual tours.
In the beginning of our journey we visited Viðareiði – the northernmost settlement in the Faroe Islands, so what better place to end than here in Akraberg – the southernmost tip of the Faroe Islands.
A huge thank you to all who took the time to ‘visit’ us! All tours can be viewed on Visit Faroe Islands’ Facebook page.
Stay safe and see you later (hopefully here in the Faroe Islands) ?
