Putting the Faroe Islands (back) on the Map
What do you do when the Danish Prime Minister on Friday “forgets” to mention the Faroe Islands amongst the few destinations that the Danes can visit this summer?
Well, you develop a quick film to tell her and all other Danes that the Faroe Islands exists and encourage people to publish photos from the Faroe Islands with the hashtag #FærøerneFindesFaktisk @Mette Frederiksen, which directly translated means that the Faroe Islands actually exist!
Swipe ? to see our director Guðrið Højgaard putting our islands back on the map ?
An important part of this story is that the Faroe Islands are a self-governing nation with a high degree of autonomy encompassed by the external sovereignty of the Kingdom of Denmark. This fact makes it especially relevant for us to tease them when they forget to mention us.
Quite a few people have supported the campaign by posting. If you would like check it out, look up #FærøerneFindesFaktisk
And if you want to help spread the word, feel free to use the hashtag ?
