Purwakarta has a lot of tourism potential, one of which is the Jatiluhur Reservoir. This holiday zone, which was founded in 1957, is located between valleys and hills, so the air there is very cool.
There are various activities that can be done, from fishing, swimming, around the lake to water sports, such as rowing, sailboat, water skiing and surfing.
But, for those who crave a vacation area with a romantic feel and suitable for honeymooning, Giri Tirta Kahuripan can be the right choice.
Located in Taringgul Tonggol Village, Wanayasa District, Purwakarta Regency, he offers lodging in the form of a villa or cottage with a beautiful mountain landscape. The facilities provided are so complete, there is a skypool, namely a swimming pool on the hills, water slides, ATV, futsal court and a restaurant.
In addition to these two mainstay tours, there are Ciracas Hot Springs. Its existence has not been widely known, even by the Purwakarta people.
Moreover, it is compared to similar leisure areas in Ciater which offer warm and refreshing water and beautiful garden views. As the largest place of relaxation in West Java, the hot springs are a destination visited by tourists every holiday.
However, the potential of Ciracas Hot Springs is very large, even if it is developed it is not impossible to beat the popularity of Ciater Hot Spring.
Ciracas Hot Springs Privileges
Ciracas Hot Springs is a tourist spot that has existed since the Dutch colonial era. It can be categorized as an ancient spring.
Located between green trees and rice fields, you can feel the cool air. Moreover, the nature around the baths is still virgin and untouched by naughty hands. Once depicting a rustic feel which is ideal for a vacation spot.
This tourist area has 12 hot springs. However, only two have been utilized, one of which is on land belonging to the Ciracas Village Office and near the Ciracas Village Mushola.
In the past, every morning or evening, many residents flocked to bathe there. Not only adults, small children also like to wash their bodies in these baths.
While soaking, they can enjoy the view of the shady trees. In exchange, they can put money voluntarily in the available charity box.
According to residents, in addition to providing physical fitness, soaking in the bath can help cure diseases, such as itching, acne, rheumatism and so on.
Because, the water contains sulfur which is able to overcome these problems. So, not a few of the tourists who visit it on weekends for health purposes.
In addition to bathing, visitors can eat Maranggi satay, a Purwakarta culinary specialty provided by stalls in tourist areas. Soft mutton or beef combined with spices can satisfy you after bathing and relaxation.
Route to Ciracas Hot Springs
The bath object is located at the foot of a hill, to be precise in Ciracas Village, Kiarapedes District, Purwakarta Regency, West Java. The location is about 60 km from the city center and 8 km from Situ Wanayasa, which is a vacation spot in the form of a naturally made reservoir.
It offers beautiful views and the sensation of walking around the lake using a duck-shaped water bike.
To go to Ciracas Hot Springs, visitors can depart from Purwakarta by taking the route towards Situ Wanayasa. If you have passed there, there will be a T-junction, where if you go straight to Bojong, turn left towards Subang or Kiarapedes.
Choose the second option, then continue the journey past the pesantren and find an alley on the left, close to a turn not far from the border gate between the two districts, namely Purwakarta and Subang.
Take that route, then run the vehicle through the rice fields, forests, houses until you find a T-junction to Kiarapedes, marked by a gate and leading to the location.
The road infrastructure to Ciracas Hot Springs is quite smooth, but winding and up and down. It will challenge your adrenaline to spur the vehicle faster. However, it is advisable to be careful not to bump into local people who return home after looking for firewood.
With good infrastructure, travel can be reached faster, namely 30-45 minutes. While in the vehicle, you will not feel tired and bored because you will continue to be spoiled by the panoramic view of the vast tea plantations from the Legokhuni quarter to Ciracas.
In addition, there are also large trees that line the sides of the road as if welcoming visitors. Another sight that is quite satisfying to the eye is a flock of forest birds flying wildly.
Unfortunately, even though it has great potential to be developed, there has been no ‘action’ from the residents and local government to manage it optimally. The proof is that the bathing facilities are simple, in the form of a building that looks like a public toilet without a door.
There is also a lot of garbage scattered about, so it looks dirty and poorly maintained. Not in accordance with the condition of road infrastructure which is quite good and smooth.
In fact, if the hot spring in the middle of the land belonging to the village office and near the mosque is managed professionally, it will be no less interesting than similar tourist attractions.
It is hoped that the development of tourism can boost the welfare of the local population who mostly work as farmers.
You can get a cool, comfortable atmosphere that you don’t find in urban areas when you visit Ciracas Hot Springs. Try to explore it so that it is increasingly recognized by the wider community.
