“On my first day in India, I had taken a tuk-tuk around Delhi to explore as much as I could for a few hours, when my tuk-tuk driver noticed I was a photographer and mentioned that I should visit Safdarjung Tomb; a sandstone and marble mausoleum built in the mid-1700s and a stunning piece of architecture to behold. He mentioned visiting at sunrise as it’s usually empty around that time. Finding a place in Delhi to enjoy alone is a challenge, so I was excited to take him up on his recommendation. The next morning I woke up at 4:30 and headed to the Tomb—and to my surprise, the tuk-tuk driver was right! The tomb was empty except for one man who tended the garden and this lone dog who kept me company. After entering the tomb, I wandered around the vast gardens finding light rays peeking around every corner. In the time I spent walking around and taking photos, the dog always kept me company, trotting along by my side. Being in one of the most populated cities in the world, and having this place all to myself, it was surely an experience I’ll never forget. When I look back at these photos, it gives me such a rush knowing that this was my first experience in India, and it has become one of my most memorable moments in this great country.”? @mena_shootz?Delhi, India ??
