Access to Dieng

If you are from Jakarta, getting to the Dieng Plateau can be reached by using three modes of transportation: airplanes, public buses and trains:


Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta to Adi Sucipto Airport, Yogyakarta

From Adi Sucipto airport, Yogyakarta you can use public transportation to the Jombor terminal or you can also go to Giwangan Terminal, then take a bus to Wonosobo. When you arrive at Wonosobo, you can take the Micro Bus heading to Wonosobo – Dieng – Batur and get off at Dieng.

Via Public Bus Line

You can use the Jakarta – Banjarnegara – Wonosobo bus route. You can choose from the following terminals:

  • From Pulogadung Bus Terminal you can take a bus (Sinar Jaya, DMI, Malino Putra).
  • From Rawamangun Bus Terminal, you can take a bus (Sinar Jaya, DMI, Malino Putra, Pahala Kencana)
  • From the Lebak Bulus Bus Terminal you can take the bus (Sinar Jaya, DMI, Malino Putra, Pahala Kencana)
  • From the Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal, you can take a bus (Sinar Jaya, DMI, Malino Putra, Pahala Kencana)
  • From the Kalideres Bus Terminal you can take a bus (Sinar Jaya, DMI, Malino Putra, Pahala Kencana)

You can get off at Banjarnegara Terminal or Wonosobo terminal:

From Jakarta, get off at Banjarnegara Terminal

For bus transportation lines, you can get off at the Banjarnegara bus terminal. Then continue the journey using the Micro Bus Department of Banjarnegara – Batur and get off at Pasar Batur, then take the Micro Bus again with the route Batur – Dieng – Wonosobo and get off at Dieng.

From Jakarta Get off at Wonosobo Terminal

After arriving at Wonosobo, you will stop at a terminal called Mendolo. Then to get to Dieng, continue your journey using a micro bus which you can find in front of Dieng Hospital.

The bus fare to Dieng is IDR 10,000, while the small transportation from Mendolo to the Dieng bus terminal itself costs IDR 3,000.

Bus prices vary:

  • Economy AC around IDR 80,000 – IDR 100,000,
  • Executive AC around IDR 80,000 – IDR 160,000

Length of journey : 10 – 12 hours

Take the train to Purwokerto Station

You can choose the departure route from Gambir Station, Senen Station, Jakarta Kota Station and get off at Purwokerto Station

If you want to take a cheap and fast train, then you can choose Senen station and use the Progo Economy Train, the Kutojaya train, the Krakatau train and other economy trains.

  • Progo economy train ticket prices ; IDR 100,000
  • Length of journey : 4 -5 hours

When you arrive in Purwokerto, continue your journey by taking the Purwokerto – Wonosobo bus with a fare of Rp. 20,000 which will be taken in approximately 2 hours.

To stay in Dieng, you don’t need to be confused, because Dieng provides a lot homestay which is directly managed by local residents.

1. Sikunir Hill

If you want to see the beautiful sunrise from Sikunir Hill then you have to be prepared from 4 in the morning. To get to the top of Sikunir Hill, you have to trekking mini beforehand.

2. Sikidang Crater

3. Dieng Color Lake
