“Nestled in the foothills of Addis Ababa, Mount Entoto is not only a historical place but is also the highest peak overlooking the city’s core. There is a legend that states that it was from here that Emperor Menelik II and his wife, Empress Taitu, saw Addis Ababa for the first time—ultimately deeming it the capital of the country. Densely covered by eucalyptus trees that were imported from Australia during the reign of Menelik II, and mostly planted during Emperor Haile Selassie’s reign, Mount Entoto is the perfect escape from the city for a pleasant morning excursion. Most locals, including myself, visit to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and to enjoy the fresh air. At this moment, I distinctly remember the feeling of tranquility. The road and trees were covered with fog that morning, which set a moodier scene than the typical clear skies and sunshine that I was used to seeing.” ?@aman_rebel ?Addis Ababa, Ethiopia ??
