Talking about lakes, this country known as the emerald of the equator has a lot of natural lakes. Each region has its own story, whether it’s a true logical story or a myth or legend that has been circulating in the community for a long time.
Even though there are many versions of the story circulating behind it, it will not discourage visitors from wanting to visit the lake, unless there is a danger sign that requires people not to be near the lake.
For example, a lake at the foot of a volcano. If the volcano is on alert status, it is hoped that none of the visitors will approach the lake. Including being under repair of surrounding facilities.
This naturally formed basin has always been a tourist attraction. Generally, natural lakes in Indonesia are formed by volcanic eruptions. However, there are also some artificial lakes that are no less interesting.
This artificial lake is made for several specific purposes. One of them is in Cigombong District, Bogor Regency, West Java, namely Lake Lido.
This place has been around since the old Dutch era, deliberately made as a resting place or a place for officials, plantation owners and supervisors to supervise the construction of the highway between Bogor and Sukabumi.
It was built on a land area of 1.7 hectares in 1898. It is located in the Cijeruk and Cigombong valleys, with water sources coming from rivers and dam springs.
The dam is located in Tambakan Village, but it is already buried under the ground, if the local government takes the initiative to reclaim the dam, it will certainly become a major tourist attraction.
The uniqueness of the dam is that it is made of thick glass. Of course it will provide a beautiful view for visitors who look from below, very typical of the Netherlands.
In addition, Lido lake when viewed above, looks like a bowl located at the foot of Mount Gede Pangrango. Even around the lake area there is also the Cikaweni waterfall whose water flows to the side of the big mountain.
Absolutely perfect for a tourist complex. However, currently it is only used as a fishing location.
There are also many local residents who like fishing here, although you can try many water rides such as speed boats, water bikes, around the lake by raft, to outbound games such as flying fox, parachuting and aeromodelling you can try here.
In the past, the lake water was so clear and clean, now it is polluted. The pollution that occurs is not from anywhere, but from the fish that are in it, because this place also functions as a fishing pond.
The facilities in the Lake Lido area are complete. These facilities are a swimming pool, a balcony area for relaxing, a multi-purpose building located across the lake, which can be used as a meeting place, a golf course, and a wifi area.
Visitors who wish to have a photo with a picture of the lake area as a whole can cross over to the small land in the middle of the pond.
It could be said that this place was a family recreation area, because everyone was here. Lodging and restaurants nearby are also available.
The hotel in the vicinity is a former Dutch heritage building. The place is a Cottage, founded by a Dutch citizen, the Dutch East Indies government police in Batavia, named Antonius Johanes Zwijsen.
This former Dutch policeman initially bought a hotel in the Harmoni area, Batavia, then expanded his business to build a hotel on the shores of Lake Lido.
The construction of this hotel or cottage was actually intended for his wife, Catharina Anna Beemster. They married in 1937.
Until now the photos of the couple still hang beautifully on the wall of the Lido Hotel waiting room. In his time, the Zwisjen couple always spent time in the cottage.
Finally decided to open it to the public in 1940. This was done after Queen Wilhelmina visited Lido. At that time, the first restaurant was inaugurated in the Lido area, now called Oranje Lido.
For visitors who come to the hotel and restaurant, they must be very proud, because these two places apart from having a romance story from their founder, are also the first places visited by Queen Wilhelmina.
In fact, in addition to being a stop and resting place for the Queen of the Netherlands, President Soekarno also always spent time in the Lido Lake area. This place inspired him to write a book called Sarinah.

Actually, it is rather difficult to determine where the location of this lake lido, into which area. Based on the address listed, lido is included in the Bogor Regency area, its location is on the edge of the Bogor-Sukabumi highway.
