The construction of the Jami ‘al Hidayah mosque was initiated by KH. Noer Ali, Ustadz Burhanuddin, H. Thoha and other figures in their arms. This mosque was built before the existence of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), around 1935.

At that time, this area was a gathering place for Hezbollah’s troops when they fought against the Dutch. Noer Ali is very well known for his guts when he came into contact with the Dutch. He is also called by the nickname Singa Karawang Bekasi.
Thanks to his persistence, his spirit of struggle was made into a film with the same title as his nickname in 2003. After the Dutch military aggression in July 1947, Noer Ali created the Hezbollah army Sabillillah during the war to defend independence.

He was also appointed commander of the paramilitary headquarters. Thanks to his actions, he was also named one of the national heroes. His heroic title was pinned on November 9, 2006.
This mosque brought controversy during the colonial period. Moreover, the mosque is also known as the forerunner to the formation of the feared Hizbullah or Sabillillah army. The Netherlands or Japan always installed special spies or intelligence to monitor this location. They are very suspicious of the slightest activity and movement.
The Dutch once arrested someone who taught the interpretation of the Koran. Translation of this Muslim book into Malay is indeed prohibited in this era. Moreover, the material given about jihad. This means that efforts were made to fight against the Dutch due to the implanting of the meaning of jihad.
When Japan came to power, the atmosphere of the mosque was not much different. Japanese intelligence sniffed out an underground movement centered on this mosque. Because of that, strict guard was always carried out even though they did not find solid evidence.
Before being named Jami al Hidayah, the initial name of this mosque was Jami an Nur. The location where the construction is located is waqf land. This land is very large, which is about 4000 square meters. At first, the condition of this building was so simple. It fits the conditions of the times at that time.

The floor was still in the form of leveled earth. Then, the pandanus mat was spread out to make it more feasible. The number of people who can enter is only 70 people. It was after independence that the development process really took place. This mosque was made more permanent with an area that was widened until now.
