“During a stretch of a few really hot and humid days, I was cycling across Magdalen bridge and stopped for a few minutes to take in this misty, early morning scene. It was so quiet with all the punts lined up waiting—everything seemingly on hold—reminiscent of the entire city. Normally, Oxford would still be buzzing with students nearing the end of Trinity Term, and tourists flooding the cobblestoned streets to visit the elegant honey-colored university buildings, complete with Gothic spires, Baroque porticoes, and Georgian courtyards. The River Cherwell would be busy with punters drifting by, and students in full academic dress, making the traditional celebratory jump into the river after finishing exams. Though these things will return in time, it is in these quiet moments that I am acutely aware of, realizing what is missing, and how things have changed.

As a graduate student, my time here is finite. I feel very lucky to have had the time to explore every corner of this picturesque place while it is strangely empty; each view somehow more special because I know we likely won’t get to see it this way again.” ? @easy.reel?Oxford, United Kingdom ??
