Another hidden art gem – Solspeilet – the Norwegian Stonehenge

Solpeilet is located on the islet of Klungholmen near Jørpeland village in Strand, Ryfylke.
At the centre of the eight-metre circle of 12 standing stones is a towering steel obelisk decorated with symbols, runes and ornaments, many derived from the Oseberg Viking ship. The Norwegian Stonehenge can be seen from The Norwegian Scenic Route Ryfylke and from the hiking trail at Jørpelandsholmen. Klungholmen may be visited year round.
