For those coming from the direction of Solo, choose an alternative route that leads to the back of the museum. You can use the Blotongan route to Banyubiru as far as Ambarawa.

A brief History
A train station was built to fulfill the request of King William I. At that time, the station was used to carry troops. However, this station was no longer functional in 1970.
That is why there are no more routes from Magelang to Semarang and Jogja. Then, the Governor of Central Java in 1970 named Soepardjo Roestam re-functioned the station as a Railway Museum.

A train series NIS 306 (Nederlandsche Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij) with wood as fuel from Cachisotk MF Chemnits. This series operating in 1900 has a speed of 50 kilometers per hour.

SS (Staatsspoorwegen) 1110
This train is produced by Weks Spoor Amsterdam with serial number C 2728. The fuel to operate the train is residual.
Operated for the first time in 1919 with a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour and the minimum radius to travel is 140. When operated on rails is equivalent to 650 horsepower.
The position of this train is to the right of the museum, adjacent to the prayer room and canteen.

C 2407
The train serial number used to be NIS 271 from Weks Spoor Amsterdam with residual fuel. Operated since 1901, it has a maximum speed of around 60 kilometers per hour and can cover a minimum radius of 140.

C 1240

C 2821
Production train by Henshel / Shassel with the SS series (Staatsspoorwegen) 1300. The fuel used is residual and was initially used in 1921.
The C 2821 has a maximum speed of 90 kilometers per hour with a minimum radius of 140. When on rail its power is equivalent to 1050 horsepower.
C 2821 was the preferred means of transportation at that time to transport raw materials from plantations to warehouses located near the port.
Passenger Ticket Making Machine
This machine was made by Thomas Edmunson and operated from 1840. He was an expert in making cabinets. When he created the machine, the Dutch East Indies government immediately appointed him as its head.
