Therefore, visitors must remember to take part in maintaining cleanliness and preserving the beautiful nature around the beach.
The island of Lombok still has a lot of virgin marine tourism wealth and is no less interesting than Mawun Beach, such as Seger, Semeti and Mawi Beach.

Awarded the Beach
Lombok Island, which is located to the east of Bali Island, is part of a series of the Lesser Sunda Islands or Nusa Tenggara.
Like Bali Island, Lombok Island is also endowed with small beaches along the coast that surround it.
Lombok Island also has a majestic mountain, Mount Rinjani which is full of mystical myths and mysteries.
Increasingly, more and more small beach charms are found and opened to the public.
Even though most of the beaches in Lombok have not built many facilities, their natural charm is not inferior to the beaches in Bali or the coast of Gunung Kidul.

One of the popular tourist beaches is Mawun Beach which is located in the Praya area, Lombok, NTB.
This beach is about 60 km from the city of Mataram, and can be reached in about 2 hours.
The topographical plan of Mawun Beach is a bay that forms a horseshoe. Two green hills jutting into the ocean as if to become a natural gateway that borders the coast from the open sea.

The location of this beach is also quite strategic because it is in the middle of Kuta Lombok Beach and Selong Belanak Beach which are already better known first.
Visitors can make it as a series beach hopping coastal attic (Central Lombok).
Description of Beauty
Although not many facilities have been built, Mawun Beach is a very, very beautiful beach.

The coastline is very wide and consists of soft white sand, although there are parts that are mixed with shells and coral fragments.
The breadth of the coastline allows visitors to relax and sunbathe or just walk along the coastline while enjoying the waves.
Several small pavilions have been built on the inner side of the beach for visitors to relax and rest.
In addition, shady beach trees also thrive in the back, allowing visitors to take shelter from the scorching Lombok weather.

Because the shape resembles a horseshoe, the waves are not too big on the west and east of Mawun Beach.
The two hills that enclose it are quite effective at breaking the waves that enter the section.
However, in the middle, the beach sand is very soft and friendly on the feet. In addition, the bottom of the beach can also be said to be quite deep, with quite a swift current and stronger waves.

The reason is that the middle part is directly facing the Indian Ocean currents, so the blue waves rolling in are still quite high and strong.
Please be careful if you want to play the waves on Mawun Beach, because even though the sea looks calm, the waves with fast currents can suddenly come.
Mawun Beach has a history of tragedy that claimed four lives. In 2015, a family who is a native of Lombok died because of the waves on Mawun Beach.
It was sunny at that time and the sea was actually relatively calm, but suddenly the big waves dragged one of the visitors, who was 15 years old at the time.
The three other people were eventually dragged into the rescue effort. Therefore, visitors are advised to remain vigilant when playing the waves on Mawun Beach and not to let children play without supervision.

Alternatively, you can choose to pull over to the west bank which is quieter and less choppy to play with water.
Another activity that is often carried out by visitors in this blue bay is climbing the two green hills on the west and east edges of the coast.
The view presented at the top of the hill is very much worth the hike.
As far as the eye can see lies a blue sea with white waves rolling in the distance as seen in the picture.
In addition, the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks on the outer side of the hill, was truly a thrilling experience.

Due to the beauty of its topography, Mawun Beach is the location of the favorite panoramic photo object for both domestic and foreign visitors.
Public facilities that have been built on this beach are parking lots, toilets and local residents who sell Lombok souvenirs, namely woven fabrics.
As for lodging or accomodation, the closest hotels are Kuta Indah Hotel and Kuta Paradise Lombok.
If you want to enjoy the natural atmosphere of Mawun Beach more, visitors can camp on the coast or on a hilltop.
However, please remember that the beach conditions are still very quiet and without electric lighting so it is recommended only for those who have experienced camping in the wild.
Route to Location
You can search for Mawun Beach through the application Google map with GPS coordinates 8.9001 ° S, 116.2297 ° E.

The best route to reach Mawun Beach from Mataram is the route that passes through Selong Belanak Beach, in the sequence Mataram-Kediri-Praya-Penunjak-Selong Belanak-Mawun.
If you continue for about 30 minutes to the east, visitors will arrive at Kuta Beach.
The view during the trip to this blue bay beach will pass through green hilly areas and expanses of grasslands.
Sometimes, the local residents’ livestock are seen casually grazing there.
On some spot, visitors have to pass through fairly gloomy ravines and steep inclines, so please always be alert.
Access to the beach is mostly private vehicles although sometimes public transportation from the nearest village also passes.
