Sukabumi is an area that has many waterfalls. Its location is around Mount Gede Pangrango and other mountain ranges, making this city very cool compared to other cities.
Not only waterfalls, there are also many beaches here, including in the Pelabuhan Ratu area, lakes and lakes as well as many other natural attractions worthy of being explored here.
Even so, it seems that not many tourists have visited Sukabumi, West Java. So that each spot is still very clean, natural and beautiful.
However, even if it is already busy with tourists, it is hoped that the cleanliness and beauty of these tourist spots are expected. After all, the natural tourism area is a valuable asset for the State, especially for each region.
Talking about exotic places, this big mountain city has a waterfall full of stories. Good and bad stories, local residents say that the waterfall keeps a mystery story.
Curug Sodong, the origin of this unique name is because behind the waterfall there is a basin that looks like a cave. In Sundanese, Sodong means cave basin.

Another uniqueness of this waterfall is twin, often called twin waterfall, because there are two streams side by side. Another name is waterfall bridal.
The location of the Sodong waterfall is in the Ciletuh Geopark area, located in Jampang Kulon. The administrative address is precisely located in Ciwaru Village, Ciemas District, Kab. Sukabumi, West Java.
The height of the waterfall is quite short when compared to other waterfalls, which is about 20 meters. Nearby there are many thick and shady green trees. The water discharge here is quite high, heavy. You can even feel the splash of water when you are even in the rocky area.

As previously explained, that Sodong waterfall also has a mystery story. More precisely, it seems mystical, maybe it is also called a myth. The story circulating among local residents is that the location of the waterfall is often used to test a kind of mysticism, called kanuragan.
This mystical science is said to be able to unify parts of the body parts washed away from the top of the waterfall. Where the pieces of the body are believed to be reunited when they reach the bottom of the waterfall. If it has been successful, then the knowledge being tested is perfect.
Another myth is that unmarried couples are not allowed to swim in the waterfall area. If violated, the couple will drown.
There have been victims, happened around the 2000s. At first when the search was carried out, their bodies were not found. Then finally found and when lifted from the pool, the water suddenly dried up and stopped flowing for several days.
These two myths have long circulated among local residents. Whether you believe it or not, you should respect a place. Especially when the place is one with nature.
It’s not just you and the others who may be there. Of course there are still local people living in that place.
The facilities available here are very complete. This place is integrated with the Cikanteh waterfall, so all the facilities become one, such as a prayer room, bathroom, small stalls around and a fairly comfortable parking area.

The entrance ticket for each person is charged at three thousand rupiah and the parking ticket is also three thousand rupiah for motorbikes and five thousand rupiah for cars.
The route taken is the same as the route to Curug Cikanteh. If you depart from Jakarta, immediately take the road to Sukabumi, then head to Ciemas sub-district, then continue to Cikanteh hamlet.
That is, if you depart from Jakarta, the travel time is estimated to be around three to four hours. Meanwhile, if you depart from Bandung, the travel time is longer, around eight hours.
The route that can be taken from Bandung is via Padalarang, Cipatat, then continued Cianjur, entering Sukabumi.
Continue to Jalan Pelabuhan, Jalan Cibatu, then Jalan Cijambe, Jalan Tegal Lega, Jalan Pelabuhan Ratu, until arriving at Jampang Kulon. Next go to Jalan Waluran, Tamanjaya and arrive at the location of Ciletuh Geopark.
For travelers who depart from Jonggo Bogor, take the Cileungsi route to enter the Jagorawi toll road, then take the toll road to Sukabumi. Furthermore, the route taken is almost the same as tourists from Jakarta. No need to worry about getting lost, because there are already many road signs.

The road that is being traversed from Ciemas to the location is actually quite good, although there are still parts of the road that are slightly damaged and also have narrow lanes.
After arriving at your destination, you can park your vehicle in the parking lot near the Sodong waterfall area. From this parking area, just walk about five to ten minutes to arrive at Curug Sodong.
Mystical Place Crowded with Tourists
A beautiful and exotic place in the district of the city of Mount Gede, still thick with its mystical aura. Geographically, the city of Sukabumi is in the same area as Pelabuhan Ratu, which is the south coast sea area and is famous for the history of the legend of Ratu Nyi Roro Kidul.
However, even though it seems mystical and maybe it is said that many victims have fallen after a vacation to Ratu Harbor, it does not reduce the interest of tourists to come here.

Apart from the port of Ratu, there are indeed many tourist attractions in Sukabumi, because there are many tourist attractions, many also want to make it a photo spot or selfie with extraordinary image results.
In the Sodong waterfall area, there is a photo spot that is very interesting and can cover the background of the waterfall as a whole, namely a wooden bridge that is between Cikanteh and Sodong waterfall. By taking the right angle, you will get a beautiful and natural image.
If there is a bridal waterfall in Sukabumi, then in Central Java there is an Bidadari waterfall. Located in the Wonotunggal area, Batang district.
The original name of the pool wall stone waterfall five angels. There is a history of its own why it is called that. The water here is very clean and clear, so you can see the bottom of the pool.
You will see a layer of pond with steps surrounded by stone walls. It also looks like there are five layers or five sections. Why is it called waterfall bidadari, it is said that in ancient kingdom times, this place was used as a bathing pool for royal princesses.

Still in Central Java, it turns out that Curug Bidadari also exists in Pekalongan Regency, precisely in Purbo Jolotigo Village, Talun District, Pekalongan Regency.
The shape of the place is not much different from the Bidadari waterfall in Batang, both have clear water too. If you are interested in traveling to Central Java, you can use the services of a tourist airport. A kind of travel agent who will arrange a travel itinerary.

While in Central Java, take the time to visit the Sigandul bridge on the Parakan-Batas road, Wonosobo Regency, Temanggung.
This bridge is the link between West Java and Central Java. From the bridge, you can see views of the misty mountains, terraced rice fields, and views of the city below.

Already exploring waterfall in Central Java, back to West Java. Tasikmalaya Regency, Sepatnunggal village, Sodonghilir District, namely Curug Gedus.
To get here, you have to pass through the very weathered Curug Gedus bridge, so you have to be careful when you cross it. The water that flows up to the waterfall is very clear and clean. I would love to be able to swim in a waterfall pool.
After walking far, of course, you want to feel the freshness of cool water. So there’s nothing wrong with taking a long journey to the ideal waterfall.
