Grand Canyon Pandeglang
The beauty of natural charm is the main attraction of Banten for the tourism sector. Various types of natural tourism can be found in the province which was originally part of West Java, one of which is the object of the waterfall.
In fact, if you visit Pandeglang Regency, you will be able to find two waterfalls in 2 different locations but with the same name, namely Curug Putri or Waterfall Putri.
The location of the first Putri Waterfall is on the slopes of Mount Pulosari, Cilentung Village, Kec. Pulosari, Kab. Pandeglang, while Curug Putri.
The second is located in the Tahura area (Taman Hutan Rakyat) precisely in the Carita area.
Both of these waterfalls are equally charming, but the 2nd Princess Waterfall has more appeal where the rocks flank the river flow.
Many say, the rocks in this one tourist destination are similar to Grand Canyon in Colorado, United States, therefore the waterfall is often called Little Grand Canyon.
I wonder what beauty looks like from Little Grand Canyon this from Banten? Well, let’s go on an adventure to explore every corner.
Waterfall Putri and Tahura
Before exploring Curug Putri, it is obligatory to know the existence of Tahura (People’s Forest Park) in Carita, because this is the nature conservation area where the waterfall is located.
With an area of 1,895 hectares, Tahura which was originally only functioned as a medium for education, research and scientific development, since August 2013, the Banten Provincial Government has also designated it as a tourist area.
In this forest area which is administratively included in the Carita District area, there are 4 villages.
That is why some of the roads leading to the location have been paved blocks and can be passed by motorized vehicles.
Some have also been concreted but can only be passed by two-wheeled vehicles. But the majority of the locations within the forest can only be explored by doing trekking aka walking.
That is why, when visiting Tahura eco-tourism, it is advisable to take a motorbike, so that the trip is not too far away.
The establishment of Tahura as a tourist area, in addition to increasing the PAD (Regional Original Revenue) of Pandeglang Regency, it is also to improve the economy of the local community.
Because to enter the tourist sites, visitors are subject to an entrance ticket of Rp. 15,000 per person, and it is this retribution that will later partly go to local government treasuries.
Meanwhile, local people can earn income by becoming guide which will take visitors to tourist locations, open stalls and rent out their homes for use homestay.
Tahura has its own charm to visit, because as a nature conservation area, you can find biodiversity in the form of a collection of plants and animals, both natural / non-natural as well as native or non-native species.
In addition, in the Tahura area, you can also find a number of tourist objects, including the Tree House which also functions as a viewing post to enjoy the landscape from above 100 meters above sea level.
In addition there are also Ngampar Cadas, Curug Gendang, Batu Lawang and the most stunning is Curug Putri.
It has been a long time since the existence of the Putri Waterfall was known by the local community, it’s just that it has never been exposed to the media, because initially the environment around the waterfall seemed haunted and full of mystery.
But since this area was designated as a tourist destination, the eerie impression is slowly disappearing by itself, because the panorama that this waterfall has is amazingly beautiful.
In fact, of the many tourist objects in Tahura, Curug Putri is the prima donna.
