Price of admission

Starting last year, the entrance fee for the Situ Cicerem tourist attraction was not calculated per person, but per vehicle. For those who bring a motorbike, Rp. 5,000 will be withdrawn, while for cars Rp. 10,000.

However, visitors are still charged a parking fee, which is Rp. 3,000 per motorbike and Rp. 5,000 per car. Even so, the levies issued are relatively cheap to enjoy Nirvana with a million charms in this corner of Kuningan.

Kuningan is a small town in West Java Province. The distance is quite far from Bandung, which is about 247.7 km, while from Jakarta it is 252.2 km. However, tourists admit that they have no problem with this as long as they have an exciting and enjoyable vacation.

Speaking of vacation, the city can be an attractive destination. There are various tourism objects offered, one of which is Cibulan cold water bath.

The vehicle, which was inaugurated in 1939, provides an experience for visitors to swim with dozens of fish gods or kancra bodas. It is said that he said, the fish were soldiers who were cursed for disobeying King Siliwangi.

According to the story circulating, from the past until now the number of fish in the Cibulan pond has neither increased nor decreased. No one dared to take it for fear that if misfortune befall them.

Another vacation spot that has recently begun to spread photos and videos on social media is Telaga Biru Kuningan aka Situ Cicerem.

This tourist destination, which has a similar name to Embung Geyongan in Cirebon, has suddenly become popular on Instagram because it offers an unusual panorama. The lake water is clear and blue, as well as colorful fish that will pamper visitors here.

Situ Cicerem is at the foot of Mount Ceremai which is famous for its myths and mysteries of Nini Pelet. The lake began to boom after being made a senderan on its channel in 2010 by Aang Hamid Suganda who was then the Regent of Kuningan.

This lake, which reaches 5 meters deep, has rocky contours and is overgrown with green water plants.

Unlike lakes in general, which tend to be brown and cloudy, Situ Cicerem is quite unique. The water has clear blue shades like Telaga Nilem, so you can see the bottom of the lake clearly.

Various types of fish are permanent residents here. Even though the number reaches thousands, but strangely it doesn’t make the lake water smell fishy and cloudy.

In addition, the surrounding community and visitors also do not carry out fishing activities at Telaga Biru Kuningan because it is not allowed. They actually enjoy the moment when the fish gather and immortalize it in a picture or photo.

Usually, visitors will sit on large rocks while waiting for the fish to gather to invade the food they distribute. The sight is very refreshing.

It is not uncommon for them to even swim or just soak at the edge of the lake because they are tempted by the clear water and the invitation of the fish. Or you can also use a float that looks like a mattress to feel the sensation of sleeping on the water while feeling the cool air of the lake.

For those who don’t want to swim, you can enjoy the calm and peaceful atmosphere while sitting by the lake. Guaranteed, fatigue for one week of running activities will disappear instantly.

Don’t worry, because the surrounding trees are very shady, so even during the day it feels like afternoon. When dusk falls, the sound of cicadas and crickets will start shouting as if to remind visitors to go home.

This place, which is located at an altitude of 280-315 masl, has an average temperature of 19-28 OC. The highest temperature in Situ Cicerem is usually felt from June to September. So, if visiting that month, make sure to wear thick and warm clothes.

A brief History

Telaga Biru Kuningan is closely related to the history of the origin of the formation of Kaduela Village. In the past, there was a religious leader who came from Kasepuhan Cirebon. He intends to spread Islam in the village.

In carrying out his duties, he held meetings with residents in the lake. At that time, Situ Cicerem was still a small spring. But, some time later, the village elder decided to expand it as a spring.

Now, residents use the lake to fulfill various needs, such as washing and bathing. If you want to know the complete origin, you can ask local villagers.

Route to Location

Situ Cicerem’s address is on Jalan Kaduela, Kaduela Village, Pasawahan District, Kuningan Regency, West Java. According to the map, the distance between this attraction and the city center is 2.4 km. To get there, visitors can use the following route:

From Kuningan City or Cirebon, you can pass Jalan H. Juanda. After that, turn left onto Jalan Nanggeleng-Cirahayu or Jalan RE Martadinata in Cijoho. Follow the path until you meet a roundabout near Taman Kunci Bersama. Turn right onto Jalan Siliwangi, go straight until you enter Jalan Raya Jalaksana. Drive to Jalan Raya Cilimus by going through Cilimus Square. Make sure you see the Mandiracan Monument roundabout.

From there, turn towards Jalan Mandirancan and follow the path to Cirea. Turn left towards Jalan Cirea-Pasawahan, then keep going until you meet the Mandirancan Tiger Monument. Turn left again, you will arrive at a T-junction.

Turn right and follow the road, then you will pass Paniis Singkup and Situ Pariuk. After finding an intersection, please turn right to go to Jalan Pasawahan. If you arrive at the Pasawahan Police, turn left onto Jalan Bina Lestari.

Keep going until you see Tugu Desa Manunggal, then turn left and gas the vehicle onto Jalan Kaduela. Just a little more until you arrive at the location of Telaga Biru Kuningan.

Access to the area is quite easy. During the trip, the green and beautiful rice fields on Mount Ceremai will accompany you. If you are afraid of getting lost, please bring a floor plan or ask the local community where Situ Cicerem is.

Amenities

Please note, Telaga Biru Kuningan does not yet have complete facilities like other tourist rides. This is because the lake is only managed by the local community who are members of the Citizen Youth Organization.

Maybe if the government participated in developing it, the existing facilities would be more adequate. Because, currently there are only two stalls and toilets.

It’s still lacking, considering that the lake in Pasawahan District is now increasingly flooded with tourists who are curious about its charm. Especially young people who want to fulfill their photographic desires.

Situ Cicerem must be included in your list of vacation destinations next year. The view is beautiful, the entry fee is cheap. Plus visitors can get an exciting experience by dancing with thousands of fish.
