History of the Linggarjati Negotiation Building
As is well known, this building is a historical witness of the implementation of the Linggarjati Conference in November 1946. This conference was held on 11-12 November 1946 by the two delegations mediated by Lord Kilearn.

At that time the negotiations were not possible to be held in Jakarta or in Yogyakarta (the temporary capital of the Republic of Indonesia), so a middle way was taken to carry it out in Linggarjati, Kuningan.
On Sunday, November 10, 1946, Lord Killearn who departed from Jakarta using the British frigate HMS Veryan Bay finally arrived in Cirebon. Then he stayed at the Linggarjati Hotel which was also used as a place for negotiations.
Meanwhile the Dutch delegation departed from Jakarta on the “Catalina” flying boat which landed and anchored outside the city of Cirebon. They moved from “Catalina” to the battleship “Banckert” which was used as a floating hotel during the agreement.
The village of Linggasana, which is the name of a village near Linggajati, was the place to stay for the Indonesian delegation led by Sjahrir. They stayed at Bung Sjahrir’s house which was approximately 20 to 25 minutes from the museum.

Meanwhile, President Soekarno and Vice President Mohammad Hatta were staying at the Regent’s house at the time.
Historical Tour at the Linggarjati Negotiation Building
In this building there is a replica where visitors can feel the atmosphere of the negotiations at that time. You can see an overview of the negotiation process like Sutan Sjahrir, Indonesia’s first prime minister who at that time led the negotiation events.
