If you have visited Yogyakarta, you must be familiar with the Kaliadem tourist area which is located on the south side of the slopes of Mount Merapi. This tourist spot is right above the house of former caretaker Mbah Maridjan, precisely at an altitude of 2,963 meters above sea level.
Before the great eruption of Mount Merapi, Kaliadem was a tourist spot as well as a campsite for climbers. The cool and beautiful air and the wide area combined with the unspoiled surrounding scenery have impressed Kaliadem in the past.

Route to Kaliadem

Apart from its history, this area also has cool air as well as other uniqueness and natural beauty. Even though it has not returned to the old days, the Kaliadem area is now being used by local residents and the government to open a tourist spot called the Lava Tour Kaliadem Merapi.
