After the owner of the house died, the building was sold to a Turkish consultate named Abdul Aziz Al Musawi Al Katiri. Then in 1942, this building again changed hands to Karel Cristian Cruq.

After some time, this building was made into the Headquarters of the People’s Security Front (BKR). After Indonesia’s independence, to be precise in 1947, this building again changed ownership to Lie Sion Phin.

Until finally in 1975, this ancient building was handed over to the DKI Jakarta Government and functioned as a Textile Museum. The inauguration of the Textile Museum itself was carried out by Mrs. Tien Soeharto on June 28, 1976.

The Textile Museum is one of the largest museums in Indonesia. There are at least about 1,000 pieces of Indonesian textile collections, most of which come from traditional collections.
