Bugel is one of the favorite Kulon Progo Beaches. The road access to this tourist location is quite easy. The distance from the center of Jogja City to Bugel Beach takes approximately 1.5 hours. Meanwhile, if from Bantul City, it is shorter, which is about 45 minutes.
The route from Jogja to Bugel Beach is from Jalan Bantul to Jalan Srentang. Arriving at Jalan Srunjuk, you will find the Progo Bridge, then from the red light Brosot turn left towards Glagah, Purworejo.
The journey from Brosot to Glagah takes about 20 minutes, until you find a signpost for the road to Bugel Beach. From the road signs turn left, go straight until you find a T-junction then turn left again towards the Fish Auction.

As with tourist attractions in general, Bugel Beach also has supporting facilities that can make visitors feel comfortable coming here, some of which are:
1. Vehicle Parking Area
No need to worry if you bring all your extended family to visit Bugel Beach because the vehicle parking area available here is quite large. At least it can accommodate dozens of vehicles such as motorbikes, cars and buses.
2. A prayer room
Sometimes when we are on a trip to a place when we are about to pray the Five Times Prayers, we must be blocked because there is no supporting prayer facility. However, you will not find this if you come here, because here there is a prayer room in proper condition complete with prayer equipment, you know.
The existence of bathroom or MCK facilities will also make it easier for visitors who want to rinse their bodies after playing with water. The toilet facilities here are quite adequate, so you can shower and change clothes easily.
Next, Bugel Beach is also equipped with resting facilities where visitors can sit back and relax while enjoying the food that has been prepared from home as a picnic lunch. The resting place is quite comfortable, not only relaxing, sometimes some even fall asleep.
5. Food stalls
For those of you who don’t have time to prepare food or drink supplies before leaving for a tourist location, don’t worry. Because in the tourist area there are food stalls selling various kinds of food, drinks, and snacks.
Well, in the tourist area there are also lodging facilities that can be used by visitors to enjoy longer time at this tourist spot. The rental price range for lodging in the Bugel Beach area is also relatively affordable.
Maybe you haven’t heard of Bugel Beach before, because this tourist spot is still rarely touched by people. Maybe you are more familiar with Parangtritis Beach and Indrayanti Beach, whose popularity is unquestionable.
However, some people feel reluctant to visit the beach because the atmosphere must be crowded and very crowded especially during the holiday season, like the two beaches we mentioned above, the visitors are always booming during long holiday moments.
Well, if you want to feel a more private and calm atmosphere, this Bugel Beach option is the right one to choose. Because the atmosphere on this beach is very quiet and lonely, so it is suitable as a place to relax and get away for a moment from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The location of Bugel Beach itself is flanked by two beaches, namely Glagah Beach and Trisik Beach. However, this beach does not encourage visitors to swim, because the waves here are quite high.
The attraction of Bugel Beach that not many people know is that the atmosphere here feels very private, as if you are the only resident of this beach. This quiet location makes this tour a favorite spot to spend quality time with the closest people.
Apart from the quiet atmosphere, Bugel Beach has not been widely explored by people because it was only officially opened in 2017. Natural beauty, soft sand is the main attraction of Bugel Beach.
Another uniqueness of Bugel Beach is the texture of the sand which is a little rough because it contains iron, this place was once a location for iron mining but now it has been closed. Even though it was once a mining site, the plants here are lush and green, you know.
